Creating Ponds and Pools - A Japanese Garden

A Japanese Garden

The client desired a Japanese Garden at the house. The garden is at the back corner of the house where it is be surrounded by an existing woodland and a stand of large pines. We built a Koi pond with a waterfall streaming into it. Rocks from the site were used to build the waterfall. A bridge crosses the pond to a bluestone patio. On one side of the garden is a 'Zen' raking garden. Large feature rocks were strategically placed around the garden to shape the planting areas. Some were placed for seating. Pennsylvania stone was used for a stepping stone pathway. The garden’s planted with Azaleas, Japanese Maples, Ferns, native groundcovers, and shrubs.
