Indigo Farm worked closely with South Mountain Company to find the best site for our Chilmark house. Indigo Farm then designed a landscape that takes advantage of the unique features of our property and displays its beauty. Ten years later we continue to appreciate their careful and thoughtful work. The house is sited to take advantage of natural light and sun and views across the property. Views into the woods take advantage of changing perspectives over changing distances. The curving and ascending driveway provides a welcoming approach. We appreciate the appealing contours of the lawns and planting beds. Another wonderful aspect of the design is the incorporation of boulders that were dug up during construction as elements in the patio, on the driveway, and in a stairway between different property levels, and as visual features along the perimeter of the landscape. We also enjoy the use of native plant materials throughout. Our home and surrounding gardens fit harmoniously into their natural setting. It has also been a pleasure to continue our relationship with Indigo Farm as they have beautifully maintained the property over the past decade.
