Japanese Garden

Japanese Gardens

The client wanted to create a Japanese garden, which is located at the back corner of the house, surrounded by existing woodland and a stand of large pines. Indigo Farm built a koi pond with a waterfall streaming into it. Rocks from the site were used to build the waterfall. A bridge crosses the pond to a bluestone patio. On one side of the garden is a Zen raking garden. Large feature rocks were strategically placed around the garden to shape the planting areas, with additional rocks placed for seating. Pennsylvania stone was used for a stepping stone pathway. The garden is planted with azaleas, Japanese maples, ferns, native groundcovers, and shrubs.
